Just a little bit more information and history : The group has been running for about 20 years now and originally met in Dixon Street, then Glasgow’s LGBT Centre , in Bell Street. At present, we meet in the Trophy Room of the Polo Club although entry is via Bar Moda due to the Polo not opening until after 9pm. You are welcome to arrive from 7pm onwards, and be welcome in Bar Moda until the start of the meeting at approximately 7:30 pm. This arrangement will allow people the chance to meet in a more social atmosphere, and stay a little later to join the regular and growing band of girls who use the Polo every week, without having to leave the building! The group is open to trans people in the broadest sense, and there is a growing number of younger members as well as the more experienced members, who contribute to the group. For many people it is their first public step dressed en femme and you are sure to find a warm welcome and support for this first venture. Our meetings take the form of an initial meeting to discuss any relevant business, followed by a mixture of informal social nights, talks, or demonstrations. Under normal circumstances, we try to finish by 9:00pm / 9:30 pm, although the room is held available to the group until closing time, if required. |
