Supporting the Transgender Community in Glasgow and the West of Scotland

CROSSLYNX has completed a campaign to raise the awareness of the public to its Transgender Community. Since it’s inception, we have now discussed the campaign with a number of authorities, and  presentations were made to many groups and organisations in Scotland, to promote trans awareness.

Presentations were made in our  limited  campaign which was launched at Sparkle 2010, and promoted at Pride Glasgow, as well as Pride Aberdeen. The posters, along with a flyer and leaflets and some freebies, were made available to the people who attend  the event. We have sought and obtained approval from all the TG Groups in Scotland who are backing this campaign, and we thank the  Beaumont Society stall for their help, and Tranznet for the use of their facility.

Just as an update for anybody who is interested, we have had some feedback from the surveymonkey questionnaire, and  unsurprisingly  one of the replies was the “ I’m all right walking about  the streets and don’t get bother.”  Just about summarises the attitude many of the Trans community feel about others in the community, doesn’t it ???

We have also obtained a small amount of sponsorship from North Lanarkshire Council, as well as a major contribution from the Big Lottery Fund.  They must think it’s worthwhile, unlike a few others, who should be positive and help, since, inevitably, it’s in their interests.
